What is the difference between an industrial camera with a USB interface and an industrial camera with a 1394 interface?
In terms of interface, USB cameras and 1394 cameras mainly affect the following factors:(1) Protocol specifications: There are more than 50 types of industry-standard protocols related to 1394 equipment, which include cameras, industrial cameras, and other equipment. Most manufacturers' 1394 industrial cameras follow the DCAM industry specifications. The interface of the USB industrial camera is a commercial specification recently developed from commercial PC applications.
(II) Power supply mode: The operating voltage of the 1394 industrial camera is 8 to 30VDC, and the operating voltage of the USB industrial camera is 5VDC. From the perspective of the power supply range, the 1394 interface meets the DC power supply requirements of individual equipment in the industrial field, such as 12VDC or 24VDC; and the USB interface uses the TTL standard voltage of the electronic circuit to supply power, which is generally used for internal power supply of the equipment.
(3) Operating system cooperation: 1394 interface industrial cameras can keep the original address after the system restarts, while USB interface industrial cameras need the system to re-allocate the address each time.
(4) Data transmission: The 1394 interface has inherent advantages when processing the data transmission of multiple industrial cameras. From the development background, the USB interface is a new generation of high-speed data transmission interfaces that inherit the RS232 interface, and the industrial camera with the 1394 interface is designed as a replacement for the SCSI and PCI buses.
